I believe that every decision (be it health-wise, for work, relationships, or ANY decision that each of us makes in our lives is based on only two reasons: 1.) to gain pleasure 2.) to avoid pain. And no matter how positive a person you may be, you will always do more to avoid pain than to gain pleasure. So, the key is to find the balance.
What can you do consistently .FOREVER. that is not necessarily something you look forward to but is palatable enough to continue to do regularly. consistently? /sort of like brushing your teeth. do you 'love' brushing your teeth? Do you jump out of bed saying, "Boy, oh boy, I get to brush my teeth! This is the best part of my day." But, face it. If you skipped cleaning them, first your mouth would feel and taste lousy & your breath would stink! Eventually, the teeth would literally fall out  of your head. It's the same with working out. You can either take care of your body & keep it pain-free and working well or let it stop working completely. Let it gradually fall apart.. |
